Northeast Texas Lakes (see http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes areas 2 & 3)
Northeast Texas topography is ideally suited for lakes because of the rolling hills and the beautiful trees and
extensive vegetation. The area contains lakes of all sizes from the small private lakes formed by damning up
small ravines for cattle to the very large lakes built by government entities by damning major creeks or rivers to
provide water for area residents and recreational opportunities. The primary area covered by East Texas Real
Estate Company incorporates the lakes from Dallas eastward between I-30 and I-20 out as far as Mt. Pleasant
and Tyler plus Lake Palestine just south of I-20 between Canton and Tyler.

Here is a brief description of each of the major lakes:
Lake Ray Hubbard -This lake borders the eastern edge of Dallas and is formed by the East Fork of the Trinity
River. In addition to Dallas, the towns of Rowlett, Garland, Rockwall, and Heath all have areas bordering the
lake. It is 22,745 acres in size with a maximum depth of 40 feet. The water depth is generally good even in
